Future2 Foundation Limited is a company limited by shares and guarantee. The company is the trustee of Future2, a charitable trust and has the power to pay the trust's income and assets to the benefit of people in necessitous circumstances. The Future2 Board has resolved to seek to benefit certain locally based bodies that help those in need.
The Future2 Board Charter provides a basis for the good governance of Future2 Foundation Limited and operates in conjunction with the Trust Deed of Future2 and the Trustee Act 1925 (NSW).

Peter Bobbin B Comm, LLB, MTax (DB) - Principal
Peter Bobbin is Managing Principal (Sydney) of Rockwell Olivier. Peter specialises in the financial services industry as well as federal and state taxation law, company, estate and superannuation law. He was formerly a taxation accountant with Coopers & Lybrand (Australia and UK) and Peat Marwick Mitchell (Sydney) and is a former lecturer in the LLM (Taxation) Degree at the University of Western Sydney, as well as being a regular guest lecturer at a wide range of universities, institutes and associations.
An author and speaker on estate planning, superannuation and taxation, his work has been published by Asset, Australian Financial Review BRW, Money Management, SMH, The Australian and The Securities Institute of Australia.
An American born, Perth native Patrick Canion’s career has been a journey of experience and tenacity, from postman, insurance and the church to financial planning. He is currently Managing Director of one of Perth’s most successful financial services firm, ipac WA (originally rmg financial services). He joined the Future2 board in January 2014.
Patrick began his financial services career at National Mutual and then later at rmg financial working in insurance. In 1995 he became Pastor of a small, community-based church (which subsequently folded), his marriage fell apart and he was diagnosed with clinical depression. Now re-married with grown up children, he runs a thriving financial services business. Patrick has been responsible for acquiring more than 7 businesses; in 2013 the business was rebranded as ipac Western Australia.
Raymond Griffin MBA (Executive) Dip FP GAICD CFP®
Ray Griffin is the Chairman of AdviserVoice Pty Limited an online information and financial services education provider. For many years he was a Certified Financial Planner at his Tamworth based business before selling to Capricorn Investment Partners Ltd in 2009. He is a Non-Executive Director of 'Capricorn'. He is a past Chairman of the Financial Planning Association of Australia and a winner of Money Management magazine’s Australian Financial Planner of the Year Award. In 2003 he served as Chairman of the International Council of Certified Financial Planners, a 20 member country organisation based in the United States and led the international push to establish the global professional body, the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB).
Ray is a well known writer and commentator in professional, local and national media, and has spoken at professional forums around the world. Ray holds an Executive MBA from the University of Technology, Sydney along with the Diploma of Financial Planning and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Steve Helmich is Director Advice & Client Solutions, AMP Ltd. He has worked in the financial services industry for over 35 years, gaining experience in investments, customer service and distribution. In his current role Steve oversees the operation of AMP’s financial planning businesses and the support functions of FPAS Operations and the AMP Horizons Financial Planning Academy.
Steve was the Chairman of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) from August 2002 to November 2004. In November 2007 the FPA Board awarded him ‘Life Membership’, recognising his significant contribution and ongoing active role in the industry. He was appointed a Future2 trustee and Chair in September 2009.
Michael Neary was appointed Future2’s first independent director in August 2007 following an extensive search and interview process. He is currently State Director NSW Enterprise & Government Enterprise Solutions at Leighton Contractors Telecoms Division. He was formerly Industry Director Financial Services at Telstra Enterprise & Government. Dr Neary holds a Doctorate In Business Administration and has worked in market development and strategic roles in the financial services industry.
Dr Neary was a director of Habitat for Humanity Australia, an international housing not-for-profit, and was a judge of the 2006 Prime Minister’s Award for Community Business Partnerships.
Rob Pedersen CFP
Rob Pedersen is a Certified Financial Planner professional with over 25 years experience in the financial services industry. He is one of the original founders of Matrix Planning Solutions Limited and sits on its board. Rob holds a Australian Insurance Institute diploma and several life insurance qualifications. He is a Board Member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and in that capacity was appointed a trustee of Future2 in 2009, taking up his appointment at the November board meeting.
Mark Rantall CFP
Mark is the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. Following a 25-year financial services career, he was appointed by the FPA Board in 2010 to lead the FPA in raising the standing of Australia’s professional financial planners. In his first year at the FPA, Mark achieved key constitutional changes to the FPA membership structure to focus on individual practitioners and secured more than $2 million of funding from members for a national consumer advertising initiative. In addition, Mark has spear-headed the campaign to raise awareness of the higher standards of FPA members to the Government, media and other industry stakeholders on behalf of the FPA’s 8,500 practitioner members and the 5 million clients they advise.
Prior to the FPA, Mark was involved in the creation of The NAB Academy and held the post of Dean of Advice after serving as Managing Director of Godfrey Pembroke from 2003 to 2008. In this role, Mark successfully facilitated more than 200 Godfrey Pembroke advisers to transition to a fee-for-service remuneration model.
Matthew Rowe is the Group Managing Director of Hood Sweeney. He has worked in the financial planning industry for over 15 years, providing professional advice in the areas of portfolio management, financial planning strategies, superannuation and advice for trustees of self managed superannuation funds. In his current role, Matthew is responsible for driving and implementing Hood Sweeney’s strategic plan, along with the day to day operations and performance of the business. Matthew is also the Chairman of the Financial Planning Association and is heavily involved in two charities in South Australia. Matthew was appointed a Future2 trustee in February 2011.
