Call to cyclists! Register now to ride with the 2012 Future2 Wheel Classic
For the third year, Future2 trustees Peter Bobbin and Ray Griffin are leading the charge to raise $100,000 for disadvantaged young Australians in the Future2 Wheel Classic. Cyclists wishing to join the fundraising effort can now register online at http://www.future2fundraising.org.au/event/f2wheelclassic. There are options to register as individuals or teams of 4, and to ride for one, two or all nine days.

$50,000 in grants goes to local charities supported by financial planners
Six Make the Difference! grants totaling $50,000 were announced today by Future2, giving vital support to grassroots projects working to transform the lives of disadvantaged young Australians who are at risk.
The six were selected from 33 applications, each endorsed by a local financial planning professional. Four grants of $10,000 each have been awarded to new applicants and two $5,000 grants go to organisations that were recipients in 2010 and whose programs had outstanding, tangible outcomes for the young people involved.

2012 Future2 Wheel Classic - New route set; dates announced for 1200km charity cycle ride
Planning for the 2012 Future2 Wheel Classic, the third annual cycle ride seeking to raise $100,000 for disadvantaged young Australians, is under way. The ride will be from Sydney to Melbourne, a 1200k route via Bundanoon, Canberra, Jindabyne, Wangaratta, Shepparton, Bendigo and Castlemaine. The cyclists will set out from Sydney on 15 September and arrive in Melbourne on the 23rd.

2011 BT Future2 Wheel Classic cyclists arrive in Martin Place at end of 1250km road from Bourke, shy of $100k target to support disadvantaged young Australians. In Martin Place on Friday 16 September the achievement of four long distance cyclists - Ray Griffin, Peter Bobbin, Mitch Carrington and Roger Simionato – was celebrated as they completed their 1,250 km ride from Bourke to Sydney.

Financial planners get on their bikes for charity
2011 BT Future2 Wheel Classic opens for registrations
A former Chair of the FPA and one of the leading lawyers to the financial services industry are in training to cycle 1250km from Bourke to Sydney (7-16 September 2011). Their target is to raise $100,000 – funds that will give a second chance to some of Australia’s most disadvantaged young people.

Future2 opens new round of grants
Financial planners are urged to support applications from local charities working with disadvantaged Australians.
Charities helping disadvantaged young Australians are invited to apply for grants of up to $10,000 from Future2, the foundation of the Australian financial planning profession. Applications for the new round of Make the Difference! Grants, now in their fifth year, must be submitted by 2 August.

$10,000 grant from the financial advice community makes ‘the ultimate difference’ to two disabled young women
The Association of Financial Advisers Foundation (AFA Foundation) and Future2, the foundation of the Australian financial planning profession, have pooled their resources to support the purchase of wheelchairs for Jamie-Lee and Samantha Dwyer, sisters aged 18 and 20 years, who are suffering from Friedrich Ataxia (FA), a rare degenerative and life-shortening condition.
