Fundraising events

Future2's first major fundraising event was at the Financial Planning Association's 2007 National Conference. Through a silent auction and individual donations, $27,000 was raised from the financial planning community.

Over $16,000 was raised at the FPA 2008 National Conference. Proceeds were the result of a Charity golf day, sale of raffle tickets and Future2 supporter badges and a contribution from Women in Finance, who held a breakfast meeting during the conference.

Additional funds were raised by Financial Planning Association Chapters (Mid North Coast and ACT) in end of year member meetings and Christmas celebrations.  During 2009 the Melbourne, Sydney and WA Chapters each raised funds for Future2 at their annual golf events.  Melbourne Chapter raised over $3,5000 for Future2 at its AFL Grand Final lunch in September 2009.

In mid February 2009 Future2 launched an appeal to raise funds for the victims of the Victorian bushfires.  A major donation from Genesys Wealth Advisers together with individual contributions from FPA members resulted in funds of almost $70,000.  Funds are to be devoted to a financial survival package which will be developed and distributed widely in communities that are at risk of bushfires and other natural disasters.

At the FPA 2009 National Conference, over $6,535 was raised in raffle ticket sales and individual pledges.  A further donation may be forthcoming from Women in Finance, from the profits of its breakfast meeting held on 19 November.  Future2 also extends thanks to Tyndall, sponsors of the Charity Golf Day held on 18 November at Sandhurst, outside Melbourne.  Several exhibitors at the Trade Expo supported Future2 with donations  of $500; they are:
- BT Financial Group
- Futuro Financial Services
- Lonsec
- NAB
- Van Eyk
Alliance Recruitment, also an exhibitor at the Trade Expo, has committed the proceeds of its Workplace Giving program in February 2010 to Future2.
